Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t.

Ok so, oh sh*t, they're really making a Bioshock movie? Oh, sh*t. Directed by Gore Verbinski and written by John Logan? And it's going to be rated R? Oh, sh*t. This could be the best thing that's ever happened, or the worst aeroplane disaster of a century. Oh, Sh*t.

Bioshock 2 Announced, Due in Fiscal Q4 2009

In a press release issued by parent company Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., the development of Bioshock 2 is apparently under way -- but not by 2K Boston or 2K Australia. Just north of San Francisco, 2K Marin will be developing the still way the hell off game, though series creator Ken Levine, "will be working on Bioshock 2.", according to Chairman Strauss Zelnick.

Also mentioned in the press release was the super exciting news that Carnival Games, the 1 million plus selling Wii title, will be cashing in coming out this Summer. They also mentioned something about a Carnival Games spin-off regarding mini-golf, but seriously, are you actually interested in that? Really? 'Cause we'll write about it if you are, but I'm putting my money against it. Start speculating about that Bioshock 2 plot, as we certainly have. Is it actually part of an element themed trilogy, the next being Geoshock and then Aeroshock? Ok, that wasn't even our idea, but it'd be hilarious. What do you think the next Bioshock will be?

Bioshock 2 Concept Art? (Probably Not)

We're going all the way crazy on this one and saying these shots, yeah, probably not from Bioshock 2. Found on a crazy German gaming site, the images are:

A.) Low-res yet highly detailed: Including lighting, dust particles, lots of polish. These are concept art pieces, yes, but this is a hell of a lot of detail (which doesn't entirely rule these out as fake.)
B.) Playing to the audience: The inclusion of the Big Daddy, with his (apparently now) tiny legs -- seen in the first picture, lower right hand corner.
C.) Too soon and in the wrong part of the world: Though I imagine 2K Boston is working on something regarding "Bioshock 2" (which would be a pretty discouraging title after such an epic first entry), they're probably not floating concept art across the Atlantic Ocean into willing German hands. It took YEARS to make Bioshock folks, and let's not forget about its precursors. In fairness, concept art is just that -- conceptual.

Hell, even if they are, this game is so far off and you have so much good to look forward to first (Brawl in SIX DAYS, HELLO?!) that we're likely to call this a waste of time either way. Look, if you really need more dystopian goodness with cheeky humor this year, get yourself ready for Fallout 3 -- it's gonna be a big one. Now, laugh with us at the "Big Daddy's" puny legs. Ha, I say! HA!
